Imagine an island filled only with rabbits. Okunoshima is a small island in Japan’s Inland Sea. It’s called “Rabbit Island” because of the thousands of feral rabbits that roam the land. No one knows exactly how they got there, but since the end of World War II, the rabbits have been doing what they do best … multiplying.

Great Big Story is a video network dedicated to the untold, overlooked & flat-out amazing. Humans are capable of incredible things & we’re here to tell their stories. When a rocket lands in your backyard, you get in.

Okunoshima is an island in Japan, known better as ‘Rabbit Island’ due to the hundreds of rabbits that inhabit it. Although technically wild, they love tourists, even going so far as to climb all over them! Credit: YouTube/Storyful Family

The original Rabbit Stampede- woman chased by hundreds of cute rabbits. A tourist from Hong Kong captures this amazing video at Okunoshima (“Rabbit Island”) in Japan – quite possibly the cutest video of all time. The island is home to thousands of bunnies that were introduced during WWII and quickly populated the island. Now tourists visit the island to see the rabbits and the cuteness.

The woman featured in the video, with an adopted pet rabbit of her own, encourages people to adopt rabbits rather than buy.
